Feb. 3 – Music, Movies and Media

This week we’ll be meeting at church at 7:30, doors will be open for 7:00 if you want to come play basketball.

We’ll be playing some games this week and talking about music, movies and the media!! 

We promise it’ll be fun SO COME OUT THIS FRIDAY!

TOBOGGANING! Friday January 13th!

Hi everyone,

 

For this week’s youth fellowship, we’ll be going tobogganing at Mooney’s Bay Park (Map: http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=mooney’s%20bay&um=1&hl=en&biw=1920&bih=955&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il) There’s a very large hill there, please meet in the parking lot closest to the hill at 7:30 PM. 

 

If you have any problems finding us there, please call Helaine at 613 296 3210 or any other youth leaders. 

 

Please dress very warmly, bring snow pants, hats, mittens, warm jackets, warm socks, and a sled or toboggan.  Afterwards we’ll be going to McDonalds for Hot Chocolate, so bring a bit of cash as well. 

Parents, please pick up your youth at McDonalds on Prince of Wales and Meadowlands (the address is 888 Meadowlands Dr) at 9:30 PM.

Sounds Like Christmas!

Hey guys, there is no YF on Friday…but come out to Sounds Like Christmas on Saturday Dec 17th at 7pm. 

Come out to the church to hang out with everyone for an evening of holiday performances, Christmas carols and wintery refreshments!

SATURDAY Dec 10th

Hey everyone!

THERE IS NO YF ON FRIDAY. Instead, we will be meeting on Saturday night this week to go caroling with the Young Adults around Westboro!

Meet at the church at 7, and don’t be late! We will be leaving soon after that. Bring some money to buy some hot chocolate! Depending on the time, we might go for some hot chocolate at a coffee shop after caroling.

Pick up is at the church at 9.

YF FRIDAY DEC2nd!!!!!!! SOO GOOOOOD

Girls: You’ll be hanging out at Judy and Helaine’s house this week! (1472 Fisher Ave - major intersections: Baseline and Fisher) 

On the menu: “baking, building gingerbread houses, and doing some good ol’ fashioned girl talk and bonding” 

Be there from 7-10pm!

Guys: “Call of Duty” Men’s Night

* Do video games make kids smarter?

* What has changed about the video games of the last decade that has made them more appealing, even addicting, than those of previous eras?

* How does the same drive that pushes some men to excel and be great, lead others to video game addiction?

* Is it too late for me (or, is it too late for my son)?

 

We are calling on all youth guys, young adult men, and fathers of boys of any age to come out  to a special night in which we learn about how video games are impacting boys’ minds and motivations. We will be learning about eye-opening new research compiled by Dr. Leonard Sax in his book, “Boys Adrift”.

  

Time: 7:30 – 9:30pm
